For the 2026 season, Athletica AI and Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber confirm the continuation of a collaboration grounded in daily practice, scientific rigor, and a shared vision of performance in modern professional cycling.
Some partnerships are about starting something new. Others are about building on what already works.
For the 2026 season, Athletica AI and Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber confirm the continuation of a collaboration grounded in daily practice, scientific rigor, and a shared vision of performance in modern professional cycling.
Over time, this partnership has evolved from technology integration into a fully embedded performance workflow, supporting coaches, medical staff, and athletes in navigating the demands of elite competition.
“This collaboration has grown naturally,” says Andrea Giorgi, Sports and Exercise Physician at Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber. “Athletica AI has become part of how we evaluate training responses, manage workloads, and support informed decision-making across the season.”

Rather than offering isolated metrics, Athletica AI provides a coherent analytical framework designed to connect physiology, training load, and race demands. The focus is not on adding complexity, but on helping the performance staff interpret signals that truly matter.
By combining mathematical modeling with artificial intelligence, the system adapts to each rider’s profile, offering individualized insights that evolve alongside fitness, fatigue, and competitive demands.
Dr. Andrea Zignoli, Applied Research Scientist at Athletica AI, explains:
“At this level, performance is about managing uncertainty. Our role is to reduce that uncertainty by translating data into structured knowledge that coaches can trust.”
One of the distinguishing elements of the Athletica AI approach is its ability to look forward, not backward. The Workout Reserve concept allows the staff to estimate an athlete’s remaining capacity at specific intensities, supporting decisions related to pacing, training stress, and recovery management.
This predictive perspective enables a deeper understanding of how athletes respond to different competitive scenarios, supporting preparation across varied race profiles and conditions.
“Understanding what an athlete can still express, rather than only what has already been expressed, changes how we approach preparation,” adds Zignoli.

Figure 2: In this example, the Athletica Workout Reserve was used by the team, to check whether the athlete delivered a maximum effort. The Interval-IQ feature made it straightforward to extract the intervals from the workout.
As Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber prepares for a challenging 2026 calendar (currently under refinement) the continuity of this partnership ensures stability in performance support throughout the season.
The collaboration allows the team to explore scenario-based analyses, adapt training strategies in real time, and maintain alignment between data, coaching intuition, and athlete feedback.
This renewed agreement reflects a shared belief that technology should serve people, not the other way around. Athletica AI and Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber continue to work side by side to refine processes, question assumptions, and support performance with clarity and responsibility.
“Progress doesn’t always mean doing something radically different,” concludes Zignoli. “Sometimes it means doing the right things better, together.”
