Who We Are
Athletica Inc. is incorporated in Delaware, USA. Our registered address is 1311 Lee Road, Revelstoke, BC, Canada.
We provide an AI-driven adaptive training platform for endurance athletes and coaches. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@athletica.ai.
What Information We Collect
We collect data across several categories. Because Athletica is a training platform, some of what we collect is health data, which we treat with extra care.
  • Account details you provide: name, email address, date of birth, gender, height, weight, country of residence, and timezone.
  • Health and fitness data: training sessions, heart rate, power output, pace, GPS data, VO2 max estimates, lactate threshold, HRV, sleep data, fatigue ratings, and recovery scores. This is special category data and we handle it accordingly.
  • Technical data collected automatically: device type, operating system, browser, IP address, and usage data such as pages visited, features used, and session duration.
  • Data from connected services: when you connect Garmin Connect, Strava, or other platforms, we receive the data you authorise that service to share. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
  • Payment information: processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
  • Create and manage your account and deliver the training service.
  • Generate and adapt your training plan based on your physiology, goals, and fatigue.
  • Provide AI coaching responses and feedback.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Improve the platform through aggregated, anonymised analysis, and conduct sport science research using anonymised data. We will never publish identifiable data without separate explicit consent.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share identifiable health data with third parties for advertising purposes. We may send you product updates and training tips by email; you can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction where we are required to identify a legal basis for processing:
  • Contract performance: processing needed to deliver the training service you signed up for.
  • Consent: for health and fitness data, which you provide when you set up your account and connect your devices. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests: analytics to improve the platform, security monitoring, and fraud prevention.
  • Legal obligation: compliance with applicable laws.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it.
  • Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Restriction and objection: ask us to pause processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent: for health data or marketing at any time. California residents also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell or share data for cross-context advertising, but you can still make this request.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@athletica.ai. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30 days). EEA and UK users may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
Children's Privacy
The Platform is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Users between 13 and 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, contact us at privacy@athletica.ai and we will delete it promptly.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards to fulfil legal obligations or resolve disputes.
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer. You can request deletion before account closure by emailing privacy@athletica.ai.
Who We Share Your Data With
We share data with service providers who help us operate the platform, including cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and analytics. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and only process it on our behalf. We also share data with connected services you explicitly authorise, such as Garmin Connect and Strava. If required by law, court order, or to protect user safety, we may disclose data to relevant authorities. Your data may be stored and processed in countries outside your own, including the USA and Canada. Where required by applicable law, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
We never share your data with advertisers. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how people use the platform. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit and encryption at rest for sensitive data. Access to personal data is restricted to personnel who need it to perform their role.
If we become aware of a breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law, including within 72 hours for GDPR.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
